Our small but mightily tasty menu sees you through the day. All of our breads, cakes, jams, and chutneys are made by one of our fabulous local artisan bakers or homemade by us. You can rely on our team using local and seasonal produce, butter and free-range eggs, which we think is just as it should be in a kitchen.
Ultimate hot chocolates topped with marshmallows, whipped cream and a Flake, and homemade pink lemonade, which is a fizzy, raspberry-flavoured delight served in a mini bottle with a paper straw, are just two of the drinks on the menu. They’re presented alongside a good range of teas and coffees.
Look out for local cheeses among the dishes, including Eden Chieftan, a mature cheddar style cheese, and Appleby brie. Our soup is homemade and seasonal, suitable for vegetarians and often gluten free. And our salads are a simple and delicious combination with the option to add a flourish of hummus, avocado, feta, roast ham, smoked salmon or a trusty boiled egg to suit your fancy.
Cream teas & afternoon teas
Afternoon tea is a customer favourite: smoked salmon, ham or cucumber sandwich on white bread, a yummy scone with jam and cream, and a slice of delicious cake. If you’re not up to the full offer, a cream tea is a very civilised alternative with proper leaf tea, of course!
Take a peek at our counter for a selection of homemade cakes, one of which is usually gluten free (as are our chocolate and salted caramel brownies and the almondies). Menu regulars are raspberry and almond blondie, millionaires’ shortbread, carrot cake, Victoria sponge, and all-butter flapjack.
A box of toys, space to park a buggy, a children’s menu and baby changing facilities make this a welcoming place for those with small people in tow.
